The Member of the Year Award recognizes a BCCA member or group of members who, as a result of his/her/their activity, made the most significant contribution to the advancement of the Bearded Collie Club of America and/or the Bearded Collie. Nominations are solicited from the membership and the Board of Directors, by majority vote, selects the award recipient. In an effort to preserve the “surprise” aspect of the award, the selection of the recipient is conducted in executive session and does not appear in the published minutes of the Board meeting.
This award was called the Ian Morrison Service Award from 1979-1996.
