ROMH and ROMI Awards

BCCA ROMH and ROMHX Awards

These awards were established in 1999 (SR 02/99-03).

SR 9.7.3   ROMH and ROMHX awards

    • A ROMH (Register of Merit for Herding) certificate is awarded to any dam of two or more offspring that have earned three to nine AKC Herding Trial titles and to any sire of two or more offspring that have earned three to nine AKC Herding Trial titles.A ROMHX (Register of Merit for Herding Excellent) certificate is awarded to any dam of three or more offspring that have earned ten or more AKC Herding Trial titles and to any sire of three or more offspring that have earned ten or more AKC Herding Trial titles.AKC herding trial titles which qualify are HS (Herding Started), HI (Herding Intermediate), HX (Herding Excellent), and HC (Herding Champion). For both awards, each offspring may accrue credit for as many as three titles per trial level with each title on a different stock. 02/99-03, 180522, 220524, 220920(Updated 2/14/23)

BCCA ROMI and ROMIX Awards

These awards were established in 1984 (07/84-02)

SR 9.7.4 ROMI and ROMI(X).

An honorary award and title of “Register of Merit for Instinct” (ROMI) shall be given to any sire that has produced ten (10) herding instinct certified or AKC Herding Titled get and to any dam that has produced five (5) herding instinct certified or AKC Herding Titled offspring. A “Register of Merit for Instinct Excellent” (ROMIX) shall be given to any sire that has produced twenty (20) herding instinct certified or AKC Herding Titled get and to any dam that has produced ten (10) herding instinct certified or AKC Herding Titled offspring. Records of sires and dams shall be obtained by the Herding Committee from applicants for the BCCA HIC title and from the AKC Awards publication. ROMI and ROMIX certificates shall be awarded at the BCCA National Specialty Awards Banquet. Credits are given for the BCCA HIC, whether it is achieved by an actual BCCA instinct test or by alternate qualifications as specified in SR 10/01-02 (Amended 04/11-07.)

A progeny may contribute only once towards the sire or dam ROMI or ROMIX award.  (Amended 04/11-08.)
