Through the LEAP program, the BCCA will sponsor/subsidize outreach and educational events hosted by our local affiliate clubs. Affiliate clubs may request up to $500 to offset expenses associated with hosting events and activities targeted toward one or more of the following:
- Cultivating new local and/or national club members,
- Educating the local community on bearded collies, or
- Educating participants about available dog sports/activities
Requirements for sponsorship include:
- An email request to the BCCA Corresponding Secretary, which includes a description of proposed event including date, venue, estimated number of participants, estimated total expenses, and requested sponsorship amount (maximum available $500 per club annually)
- Following the event, the hosting club provides a summary of event outcomes to the BCCA Corresponding Secretary, e.g., participants, new memberships, etc.
The BCCA also requests that affiliate clubs have copies of BCCA Membership applications at the event and make every effort to connect prospective new members with potential sponsors. Host clubs are encouraged to provide write-ups for distribution in Bagpipes or other BCCA communication channels, as well as photos of the event & participants to be used in those communications.
